Oprimest-LH Enhances the Production Performance of Laying Hens and Improve Egg Quality

In addition to providing energy, grease also has many other functions. Such as the biological functions of phospholipids in fat, the formation of cytoplasmic membrane, and the emulsification function. Essential fatty acids can also affect the growth and development, egg production performance and egg quality of laying hens.

Short and medium-chain fatty acids composed of oils have unique physiological and biochemical functions. They can reduce fat deposition, improve insulin sensitivity, regulate energy metabolism, and also have antibacterial effects. They are widely used in food, medicine, cosmetics and other fields.

Many studies have shown that short and medium-chain fatty acids have broad application prospects and huge development value in the laying hen breeding industry.

Purpose of the trial

This trial investigated the effects of functional short, medium and long chain fatty acid complex (Oprimest-LH) on the production performance, egg quality and blood biochemical indexes of laying hens.

Trial product

The test samples were provided by Calid Biotech (Wuhan) Co., Ltd

Trial design

One hundred and thirty-four healthy 86-week-old Hyland Grey laying hens were selected and divided into two treatments according to complete randomization, which were the control group and the 1000g/t Oprimest-LH group. Each treatment had 17 replicates with 28 hens per replicate. The pre-feeding period was 1 week and the formal trial was conducted for a total of 8 weeks.

Effects of Oprimest-LH on the production performance of laying hensLH1As can be seen from the above table, the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diet increased the egg production rate by 1.38% and decreased the feed-to-egg ratio by 0.087 from week 1 to 4; the egg production rate increased by 2.39% and the feed-to-egg ratio of laying hens decreased by 0.14 from week 5 to 8 (P=0.055). The addition of Oprimest-LH to the diets improved the egg production performance of the laying hens.

Effects of Oprimest-LH on egg qualityLH2From the above table, it can be seen that the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diets significantly reduced the watermark score (P<0.05), significantly increased the eggshell strength (P<0.05), and tended to increase the specific gravity of the eggshells (P=0.075), compared to the control group.LH3From the above table, it can be seen that there was a tendency to increase egg weight (P=0.051) with the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diets compared to the control group.

Effects of Oprimest-LH on blood biochemical indexes of laying hensLH4From the above table, it can be seen that compared with the control group, the blood of laying hens in the 4th week of the experiment showed a decreasing trend of TG (P=0.052) and a significant decrease of LDH enzyme activity (P<0.05) after the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diets.LH5From the above table, it can be seen that compared with the control group, the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diet resulted in a significant increase (P<0.05) in blood TP, ALB, Ca and TC content and a significant decrease (P<0.05) in LDH enzyme activity in laying hens in the 8th week of the test.

Conclusion of the experiment

In conclusion, the addition of Oprimest-LH to the diet increased the egg production rate, lowered the feed-to-egg ratio, significantly lowered the watermark score, significantly increased the eggshell strength, increased the eggshell specific gravity, and increased the egg weight.
